GM replacement head change

When replacing cylinder heads on HFV6 engines, if you are using a 2011 new style “saddle cap” cylinder head, spacer shims are NOT to be used. Use of shims/spacers on this new cylinder head can cause damage to the cylinder head and actuators. Also, you must use the camshaft actuators that are specifically designed for this new cylinder head.

The saddle cap design cylinder heads will not work with the 2004-2006 and first 2007 engines. All timing components and calibrations are different.

This applies to a range of GM vehicles that are equipped with the 3.6 LY7 or LLT,  2.8 LAU, 3.0 LFI or LFW, including models:

* 2007-2011 GMC Acadia

* 2007-2009 Pontiac G6

* 2008-2009 Pontiac G8

* 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook

* 2007-2009 Saturn Aura

* 2008-2011 Buick Enclave

* 2008-2010 Saturn Vue
