Stubborn quad cab doors

Owners of 2009-2010 Dodge Ram 1500 quad-cab trucks may experience a condition where the right and/or left rear quad cab doors will not lock or unlock using the FOBIC (remote control key fob) or door panel switches (but lock and unlock will function properly manually).

The repair involves removing the rear quad cab door panels and re-routing the power lock/unlock wire harness away from the bell crank mechanism.

With the interior door panel removed, re-route the door lock wiring harness away from the bell crank to a 90-degree angle and reduce the slack in the wiring harness. Secure the harness with a zip tie to the routing tab (refer to the illustration).

Reinstall the door panel and verify operation with both FOBIC and door panel switches.
