Mazda airbag light on?

This TSB applies to 2011 Mazda vehicles with VINs lower than JM1 DE**** ** 120900 (produced before Dec. 01, 2010).

Some vehicle may experience the airbag system warning light illumination with DTC B00A0:81 (invalid signal to SAS control module) stored in the SAS control module. This concern will not inhibit airbag operation. The warning light will turn off when the ignition switch is in the off position. The repair involves replacing the SAS control module, available as P/N DR61057-K30A.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

  1. Is DTC B00A0:81 the only stored DTC in the SAS control module? If yes, proceed to Step 2. If not, refer to MS3 or workshop manual (section 08-02 DTC Table).
  2. Clear the DTC.
  3. Was DTC B00A0:81 successfully cleared? If yes, replace the SAS control module. Refer to MS3 online or workshop manual (section 08-10 SAS Control Module Removal/Installation).

Verify that no DTCs are stored in the SAS control module.

The MIL on, with DTC B00A0:81 likely indicates the need to replace the SAS control module.
