This TSB applies to 2010 GM vehicles equipped with the 6T70/75 automatic transmission. (Buick Enclave and LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX, Chevy Equinox, Malibu and Traverse, GMC Acadia and Terrain, and Pontiac G6).
Some customers may complain about a slip or flare on a shift into third, fourth or fifth gear at light throttle of approximately 25% or less. They may also comment on a delayed engagement into reverse. These concerns typically occur on vehicles with less than 500 miles.
Drive the vehicle under the same conditions (throttle position and speed) as the customer noted the concern. Complete at least six series of upshifts under these conditions with the engine at operating temperature and with the throttle position steady and unchanging.
If a delayed engagement into Reverse is also a concern, complete at least 10 shifts from Park into Reverse. This series of shifts will allow the shift adapts to tailor the shifts and reduce or eliminate the flare and delayed engagement.
If the series of upshifts and shifts into reverse correct the conditions, return the vehicle to the customer. If the concern is not corrected, replace the case cover assembly with parts available from the parts catalog (case cover, item # 403).
