Mitsubishi remote start change

The three-button remote engine start transmitter on 2009 ½ and later Mitsubishi Galant, 2010 –2012 Eclipse/Eclipse Spyder, 2009 and later Endeavor, Outlander and Lancer models was superceded to a five-button remote (P/N MZ360361EX).

When replacing a three-button remote with a five-button remote, you must follow the programming instructions for the five-button transmitter, specific to the vehicle model. Programming instructions are included with the new remote, or you can refer to the Remote Engine Start Programming instructions on the MDL (service>>service tech resources>>Technical Worksheets).

Advise customers that some of the five-button features do not work on vehicles that were originally equipped with an earlier three-button system. Those features were not incorporated in the earlier ECU.

Also note that the three-button remote cannot be used on a new system designed for a five-button remote.
