This TSB provides information regarding transmission and/or Park-Neutral position switch installation on various Lexus vehicles, including 2006 GS300, 2007-2011 GS350, 2006-2007 GS430, 2010-2012 GX460, 2003-2009 GX470, 2006-2012 IS250/IS350, 2010-2012 IS250C/IS350C, 2004-2006 LS430, 2003-2007 LX470, 2008-2012 LX570 and 2006-2010 SC430 vehicles, all equipped with automatic transmission.

If the manual shift lever is rotated prior to installing the Park-Neutral position switch, the detent spring may become detached from the manual shift lever.

  1. When performing automatic transmission/Park-Neutral position switch service, be careful not to rotate the manual shift lever prior to installing the Park-Neutral position switch.
  2. If the detent spring becomes detached from the manual shift lever, remove the detent spring and reinstall on the manual shift lever.
  3. Do not attempt to force the manual shift lever into position with the detent spring installed. This may damage the detent spring. The detent spring must be removed when repositioning the manual shift lever.

-          Remove the transmission oil pan.

-          Remove the detent spring.

-          Reposition and install the detent spring on the manual shift lever.

-          Reinstall the transmission oil pan. Refill the transmission fluid to specification.

-          Install the Park-Neutral position switch.

-          Confirm proper operation.
