Updated knock sensor

Some 2004 and 2005 Toyota Echo, Scion xA and xB vehicles may exhibit a MIL on with DTC P0325 (knock sensor 1 circuit, Bank 1 or single sensor) in the engine control module. The knock sensor has been improved to reduce this condition.

Applicable vehicles: 2004-2005 Echo vehicles produced before the production change effective VINs shown below; 2004-2005 Scion xA and xB vehicles produced before the production change effective VINs shown below.

Sensor, knock control P/N 89615-52030 (previous and current part number identical)

1. Conduct knock sensor circuit checks according to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year or repair manual (Diagnostics: Engine Control System: Knock Sensor).

2. If the problem source cannot be located, replace the knock sensor according to the service manual or TIS.
