“As I reflect on that weekend, I can honestly say that it was one of the proudest moments of my 38 years in business,” said Jim Arnold, CEO and president of Arnold Oil. “I want to thank our customers who took the time to celebrate with us, as well as the Federated staff and our vendor partners who participated and helped make this such a great event. I especially want to thank our employees who have been instrumental in our success over the past 38 years.”
The two-day grand opening celebration began with a customer event, featuring more than 80 vendors and outdoor setups like the Federal-Mogul Motorparts Market Connect Van and the Chevron Delo truck. Customers were treated to lunch and dinner from noted Austin chef John Chabot, and goodie bags and door prizes were awarded throughout the day. Ryan Ferguson of Ferguson Automotive in Austin, won the grand prize: a choice of a trip for two to Jamaica, a trip for four to Disney World or a cash prize.
The following day Arnold Oil employees and customers had the opportunity to go to Cotton Bowl Speedway to meet Federated spokesman Kenny Schrader, tour the pits and drive their cars around the track. The employees then headed back to the new warehouse facility where they attended a dinner for their families that included an awards ceremony. The evening ended back at the track as Schrader and the Federated dirt track team raced before a packed house.
“Making such a major investment in this fantastic new facility represents confidence in the future and a commitment to the business for future generations,” said Larry Pavey, president of Federated Auto Parts. “It is an inspiring example of what makes our industry great. We could not be more proud of Federated’s association with Jim and the entire team at Arnold Oil and we wish them continued success.”
