Aha, it’s the MAP

This bulletin applies to three GM models, specifically 2004-2012 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon, as well as 2006-2010 Hummer H3, equipped with 2.8L, 2.9L, 3.7L and 5-cylinder engines.

An intermittent rough running concern and/or SES light may be experienced. Upon inspection, the technician may find history misfires on all cylinders, along with any one or more of DTCs P0106, P0107, P0300, P0502, P1107 and/or P2431.

If SI diagnostics do not isolate the cause of the concern, inspect all MAP sensor circuits for being broken inside of the insulation near the MAP sensor connector. Typically, the break will be within a few inches of the MAP sensor connector. If a broken circuit is isolated, follow SI wire repair procedures. If no wiring concerns are found, follow SI direction for voltage drop testing of related circuits.

TXL wiring of the correct size along with new terminals are required when replacing any sensor circuit.
