Want cheese with that whine?

This bulletin applies to all Hyundai vehicles. Before replacing a power steering pump for a whine noise condition, check the pump reservoir filter screen for contamination.

If the filter screen at the bottom of the reservoir is clogged, it may cause the pump to aerate and produce a “whine” noise. If the filter screen is clogged, replace the reservoir.

NOTE: It may be necessary to empty the power steering pump reservoir in order to properly inspect the filter screen.
