Permatex has earned a gold medal in the AmeriStar Packaging Awards competition from the National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) for the innovative dispenser design of its waterless hand cleaner, Permatex Fast Orange.
The new design introduces a proprietary rocker closure. The disc-top, placed on base of the inverted package, allows easy, one-hand action during hand cleaning. The user simply taps the bottle on its bottom corner of the spout to open and dispense the cleaner, and then taps again to close.
The Permatex Fast Orange rocker cap bottle is available in a 15 oz. size and is offered in both smooth and pumice formulas. Permatex Fast Orange hand cleaner features patented MicroGel technology, a polymer emulsion synthetic solvent that eliminates the need for citrus- or petroleum-based solvents, while continuing to deliver effective cleaning power.
The MicroGel formula easily removes grease and grime from hands. The formula’s gel-like consistency also adheres to hands, reducing the amount of product needed to get the job done. Fast Orange hand cleaner also includes skin-conditioners to keep hands soft. The cleaner is biodegradable, non-toxic, and petroleum-solvent free.
The new Fast Orange package was designed by Berlin Packaging. The design represents the first rocker-cap style bottle to be introduced to the automotive retail market, the company notes.
The award was presented for first place in the Household Chemical & Automotive division, during the 2015 NACD packaging awards in Chicago.
“We are extremely excited about winning this prestigious award from the NACD,” says Sean Lyon, Permatex’s director of marketing. “As a company we are always looking for ways to innovate and grow our business. This award shows that our efforts have paid off and we look forward to developing many more innovations that will benefit our customers.”
The AmeriStar Awards, one of the most exclusive competitions in the industry, recognizes those packages exhibiting excellence in innovation, economics, performance, environmental impact, marketing, and product protection.
