Nine General Motors original equipment (OE) new transfer cases for GM full-size pickups trucks will be made available to the independent aftermarket in December 2015 through ACDelco.
The transfer cases cover Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks from model years 2007-1999. They are all-new, not remanufactured.
One of benefits of the new transfer cases is a simpler “plug and play” installation system that saves time and money. ACDelco says there is no programming required during installation, no specific tooling requirements and no extra work.
Other benefits of the new transfer cases include:
* Vespal pad inserts and an aluminum vent (instead of plastic) for increased durability and reliability;
* an oil pump flouting sleeve for strength;
* improved seal material and design;
* calibration to match the vehicle with exact specifications; and
* a no-hassle core return.
The transfer cases include 2-speed, active, on-demand shift; 2-speed, electric, part-time; and 2-speed manual shift, part-time.
Because these are OE products, they are designed and manufactured to meet the validation requirements of all previous models, and they are produced in assembly plants alongside those for current models, according to ACDelco. They incorporate all enhancements made since the original transfer case, and undergo the same quality and rigorous testing as transfer cases for new models.
