Too Lazy to Hold the Key Until Starting?

This bulletin applies to 2007-2013 GMC Sierra and Yukon vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with a computer-controlled cranking system (bump start). If the ignition switch is turned to the start position, and then released when the engine begins to crank, the engine will continue to crank for a few seconds or until the engine starts. Some customers may note that this feature is inoperative.

When the Low Fuel warning lap is on and the FUEL LEVEL LOW message is displayed in the DIC, the computer-controlled cranking system will be disabled. This is normal and no repairs should be made.

Advise the customer to add fuel in order to enable this feature.
