Caddy Funky Fill

Some owners of 2013 Cadillac SRX models may complain that the locking fuel tank filler door does not lock or unlock, a condition that may be intermittent.

The condition is caused by a mis-alignment of the locking pin to the hole in the fuel tank filler door bracket, preventing full engagement of the locking pin.

1. Open the fuel tank filler door.

2. Locate the oval shaped locking pin engagement hole on the inner fuel tank filler door.

3. Protect the inside of the fuel tank filler door with masking tape.

4. Using a paint pen, mark a 2 mm area on the fuel tank filler door bracket. Ensure that the area that is marked is toward the painted outside of the door.

5. Using a small round file, remove the 2 mm material area from the fuel tank filler door hole.

6. Remove the masking tape and verify the locking/unlocking function of the door.
