This bulletin applies to all 2014 and prior GM passenger cars and light trucks. Some customers may comment that their vehicle is experiencing noise or a fluid leak from the power steering pump, gear or high pressure side power steering hose during extreme low outdoor temperatures.
During extremely low temperatures (-22 degrees Fahrenheit or lower), the power steering fluid may thicken and power steering system pressure may rise, potentially causing noise or damage to system components.
To resolve the issue, replace any damaged power steering components, flush the power steering system and refill with Cold Climate power steering fluid (P/N 12345866/16 oz; or P/N 12345867/32 oz).
