Oil Switch Cap

Subaru has made a design change to the rubber cap which covers the electrical connection at the oil pressure switch.

The new cap provides better sealing and resistance to moisture intrusion which can compromise the electrical connection and in some cases cause the oil pressure warning lamp to illuminate in error.

The new rubber cap was incorporated into production during early December 2012 in Forester and Impreza models.

It is available as P/N 22187AA080.

Be sure to tighten the electrical connection terminal according to the servuce manual, as it varies by model. The new seal must be installed with no roll-up on any of the edges of the lower seal area.
