Porsche notes that they have discovered that the high pressure fuel pump is increasingly being replaced in 2010 Boxster models, but in subsequent tests carried out by Porsche, these pumps are found to be functioning correctly.

Complaints include engine start problems and reduced engine power. The following fault memory entries in the DME control unit may include P-190 (fuel high pressure sensor) and P1030 (fuel high pressure sensor stuck).

In most cases, the high pressure sensor is defective and is the cause of these complaints. Diagnose the faults and work through the fault codes using “Guided Fault Finding” in PIWIS Tester II.
