This bulletin applies to 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 5.7L engine and built before March 12, 2013, and equipped with the Parksense FT/RR Park Assist System.
The customer may note at low speed operation (below 7 mph), a cluster display indicating an object is detected by the front park assist system. This will be indicated by the fourth (farthest) arc on the vehicle graphic on the cluster. This will typically occur on gravel or sloped surfaces, like an approach ramp. The system calibration is overly sensitive, which is causing ground detection as an object in the far zone.
The remedy involves reflashing the PAM (park assist module) with the latest software. Install a battery charger to prevent battery voltage from dropping below 13.2 volts or rising above 13.5 volts during the reprogramming.
