The customer may complain about a loss of power while driving, but the technician may find that the vehicle operates properly when test driven, and no DTCs are set.

The issue may very well be the normal workings of the brake override system. The system is designed to cut engine power if it senses that the accelerator pedal might be stuck (the pedal may be open while the brake pedal is pushed). If you rest your left foot on the brake pedal while driving, the system will think that you’re trying to slow down and the engine power will be cut.

Talk to the customer and tell him/her not to rest their foot on the brake pedal while driving.
