This bulletin applies to 2013-2014 Chevy Spark vehicles equipped with a 1.2L engine. If you encounter a no-start with low or no compression, along with engine noise and MIL on, record the compression readings, then remove the camshaft cover and inspect for a broken or dislodged camshaft actuator spring.

If a broken or dislodged spring is found, GM’s recommendation is to replace the engine assembly.
