Owners of 2010-2011 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain or 2011 Cadillac SRX vehicles may complain about an intermittent no-crank concern.

This may be caused if the Purple wire circuit 6 going to the starter solenoid is not fully seated or due to plastic flashing on the male terminal of the starter solenoid terminal.

Carefully check the Purple wire circuit 6 terminal for plastic flashing that can prevent contact.

Carefully check the Purple wire circuit 6 terminal for plastic flashing that can prevent contact.

Check the Purple wire circuit 6 at the starter solenoid to make sure the connector is fully seated and locked into place. If the connector is fully seated, disconnect the starter solenoid connector and vary carefully examine the solenoid connector at the starter to see if there is plastic flashing molded to the male terminal. The plastic flashing acts as insulation and the partially covered terminal prevents good contact to the female terminal. The plastic flashing can be removed with a sharp tool. Make sure to check the female terminal tension for the circuit 6 connector because the male terminal with the flashing may have spread the terminal.
