Ford Motor Co. is adding a line of Motorcraft loaded struts to provide more coverage for Ford and Lincoln vehicles.
Ford says the new line of struts is available now and will allow even more opportunities for shops and technicians that service these vehicles. The original equipment (OE) loaded struts are offered at the same or lower price than major competitors, according to Ford.
The new loaded struts are made with 98% OE components and have the spring already in place. Ford says this simplifies installation, while providing OE-level quality, fit and performance.
“This summer, we were excited to offer the first wave of loaded struts,” says Jana Czopek, Ford North America underbody product manager. “The second rollout more than doubles the number of applications. We’ve heard from shops and technicians who have said how much they appreciate the competitively priced loaded struts. More applications mean they’re getting more of what they’ve been asking for.”
The second rollout is available now. New applications include:
- Taurus (2000-2007);
- Sable (2000-2005);
- Explorer/Mountaineer - front (2004-2010);
- Explorer/Mountaineer - rear (2002-2010);
- Focus - front (2000-2011);
- Expedition (2003-2006) - available December 2017;
- Fusion/Milan/MKZ - front (2006-2012); and
- Zephyr - front (2006-2008).
The first rollout was available in August. Those applications included:
- Mustang (2005-2010);
- Escape/Mariner (2001-2012);
- F-150 (2004-2013);
- Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis (2003-2011); and
- Lincoln Town Car (2003-2011).
Ford says these are the only OE-spec loaded struts available for Ford and Lincoln vehicles. As with all Motorcraft parts, these new loaded struts are covered by the two-year service parts warranty (SPW), which provides unlimited mileage coverage for Ford and Motorcraft parts, including labor and with no commercial exceptions.
