Some 2014-2018 Toyota Corolla vehicles equipped with a 2ZR-FE or 2ZR-FAE engine may exhibit a MIL on condition with DTC P2420 (evaporative emission pressure switching valve stuck off). 

The fix requires replacing the charcoal canister and filter sub-assembly.

Disconnect and remove the air line tube.

Disconnect and remove the air line tube.

Remove the 12 mm bolt from the charcoal canister assembly.

Remove the 12 mm bolt from the charcoal canister assembly.

Install the new filter sub-assembly by sliding the metal bracket between the charcoal canister assembly and the vehicle frame. Re-install the 12 mm bolt and tighten to 14 ft-lb and connect the new inlet and outlet air lines.

Install the new filter sub-assembly by sliding the metal bracket between the charcoal canister assembly and the vehicle frame. Re-install the 12 mm bolt and tighten to 14 ft-lb and connect the new inlet and outlet air lines.

Install the new clamp or equivalent 7.5-inch nylon cable tie.

Install the new clamp or equivalent 7.5-inch nylon cable tie.

Clear all DTCs using Techstream. Run the EVAP system check utility (Engine and ECT > Utility > EVAP System Check. Verify that no codes were set during the utility. Test drive to confirm.
