Dart Reflash

A “small number” of owners of 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles may experience a MIL on. The technician may find DTC P2251 (O2 sensor 1/1 negative current control circuit open).

Using a scan tool (wiTECH), verify that all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs other than P2251 are present, record and repair as needed before proceeding further. The repair involves reflashing the PCM.

Install a battery charger to ensure that battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts or rise above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

1. Reprogram the PCM using software release 14.02 or higher.. Follow the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT.

2. After PCM reprogramming, clear any DTCs that may have set in other modules.
