Winona, Minn.-based Goodson Tools & Supplies for Engine Builders has introduced a high pressure oil gallery cleaning system.
Dave Monyhan, Goodson sales manager, says the basic concept for the tool was brought the company by a customer, Mark Ochs.
“The Goodson tech department worked with him to develop his idea into the finished tool called the HPOG-1000,” says Monyhan. “The high performance oil gallery cleaning system is designed to aggressively clean oil galleries in most engines – gas to diesel, stock to high performance.”
Erik Shepard, Goodson tech services manager, says, “The tool incorporates the aggressive cleaning action of stainless steel wire brushes with the hydro action of a specially designed water manifold plus your shop air to quickly clean oil gallery holes in gas and diesel engines.”
The air/water outlet holes are drilled in a spiral pattern to create a swirling effect to increase the wand’s cleaning power, according to Shepard.
The standard kit includes a 36-inch long stainless steel cleaning wand with ergonomically designed billet aluminum grip and three stainless steel brushes (3/8 inch, ½ inch and 5/8 inch diameters). An 18-inch -long cleaning wand is also available (sold separately).
