This bulletin applies to 2015-2019 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 and Yukon models. Some customers may comment that the RKE (remote keyless entry) only works at short distances from the vehicle. The cause may be the GM accessory Echomaster Trailering Camera system.
While the vehicle is running and in Park, press and hold either the Back button, found on the 8-inch screen or the Home button on the 7-inch screen, for approximately 3 seconds. If the camera menu does not display, the vehicle does not have the Echomaster Trailering Camera system. Refer to the service manual for RKE range issues.
If the vehicle does have the Echomaster Trailering Camera system installed and there are RKE range issues, remove the driver’s information display. Temporarily disconnect the Echomaster Trailering Camera system. Validate if the RKE range issues still persist.
If the RKE range issues remain, refer to the service manual for RKE range issues. If the RKE range issues are returned to normal ranges upon temporarily disconnecting the Echomaster Trailering Camera system, contact Echomaster GM Support for replacement parts to correct the RKE range issue.
