BMW Fuel Pump Control

This bulletin applies to 2016 BMW 228i XDrive vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. If the engine stalls right after starting (when stationary), and/or the engine cannot be started, one of the following faults will be stored in the DME:

  • Gasoline engines...... FC 11B033
  • Diesel engines.......... FC 2BAB00

The power supply fuse for the fuel pump control electronics (EKPS) can fail due to an internal control module problem.

Check the fuse for the EKPS, located in the rear fuse carrier. If the fuse is found open or faulty, then check the part number of the EKPS control module. If P/N 16 14 7 447 895 or P/N 16 14 7 450 992 is installed, the fuse and the EKPD control module must be replaced together.
