Honda Flap

This bulletin applies to 2013-2016 Honda Accord sedan models. The customer may complain about hearing a flapping or fluttering noise from the left rear of the vehicle when the vent position is set to floor/defrost, recirc is turned on, and the blower speed is set to at least three bars.

The noise is coming from the fresh air vent that’s behind the left corner of the rear bumper. In order to reduce this noise, follow these steps:

1. Remove the rear bumper.

2. Check the flap inside the fresh air vent. If it’s a double flap (a rubber flap with a fabric flap underneath), go to Step 3. If it’s a single rubber flap, replace the vent with P/N 75450-T2A-A01, and then go to Step 3.

3. Apply a 90 mm x 30 mm strip of T10 EPT foam (P/N 06992-SA5-000) as shown in Figure 2.

4. Reinstall the rear bumper.

Inspect the fresh air vent to determine if it has a single or double flap. If it has a single flap, replace it with the double-flap version P/N 75450-T2A-A01.
