Trailer Brake Complaint

Some 2016-2017 Toyota Tundra truck owners have expressed dissatisfaction with the braking feel of the integrated trailer brake controller. Revised software for the trailer brake ECU has been developed to provide an alternative trailer braking feel for these customers.

Toyota notes that the brake control relay with bracket should not be replaced as part of the repair procedure.

Using the GR8 battery diagnostic station, maintain proper battery voltage during the programming.

Note: The diagnostic tester (TDT) or Techstream LITE is not recommended for flash reprogramming with the new calibration file.
