Remy International Inc. has announced a company-wide reorganization that consolidates its aftermarket operations into a single-source, customer-driven supply channel for light-, medium- and heavy-duty rotating electrics.
"The Power of One" initiative was made public at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nev., by John Weber, president and chief executive officer.
Weber says, "We are one of the few global suppliers of aftermarket rotating electrics with an OE expertise. We are uniquely positioned to deliver a best-in-class aftermarket portfolio of products featuring the latest technology. Our goal is to create one seamless customer-facing entity.
"That's what The Power of One is all about -- harnessing that strength to bring our customers one point of sale, one website, one catalog, with number-one range in the business. Remy has one focus, and that is rotating electrics and delighting customers."
Eric Bippus, senior vice president, aftermarket sales and marketing, will be leading this initiative. He will report to Jay Sanchez, president of Remy Power Products.
Remy has intensified its emphasis on customer support and, according to Weber, has "rethought everything about how it conceives, designs, builds, sources, supports and markets rotating electrical components." This process will result in many customer-driven changes during 2012, the company reports.
