Five new members have joined the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Service Center Advisory Council. They will advise the Alliance on “street level” issues facing shop owners.
The five shops chosen for the Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper Service Center Advisory Council this year are Ross Colket of Colket Automotive Technical Services, Landsdale, Pa.;, William Nalu of Interstate Auto Care, Madison Heights, Mich.; Alain Robert of Ste Agathe Service Centre, Ste-Agathe, MB; Justin Barrett of Barrett Automotive, Cornelia, Ga.; and Brett Bohlman of Highway 7 Service Center, Newell, Iowa.
Being appointed to the Service Center Advisory Council is not just recognition for being an impressive shop, the Alliance notes. Members of the council are asked to attend meetings and to consider industry trends and how the repair business will be impacted by those trends.
Additionally, they provide input and guidance to review and develop any new programs related to Certified Service Centers and provide direction to the Alliance sales and marketing committee and Alliance headquarters’ staff. Members act as a representative voice of all Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper customers in business matters related to service centers.
The Service Center Advisory Council consists of 10 active members. Each member of the council serves a two-year term with a new five members being selected every year.
The council’s annual retreat is currently underway in Colmar, Pa. The council attends a three-day face-to-face session where they advise on essentials to shop owner success. The meeting will include a tour of Dorman Products Inc. headquarters. Entertainment includes receptions, dinners and group activities. The meeting is being hosted by Dorman at their headquarters in Colmar, Pa.
