On some 2015 Kia Sedona vehicles built between July 21, 2014 through Sept. 21, 2014, a repetitive knocking noise may be heard from the front struts. The noise may be more noticeable during parking lot maneuvers at slow speeds, especially over speed bumps.

To correct this concern, lubricant is to be added to the strut striker caps. With the vehicle on a lift, raise the bellows boot to expose the striker cap. Lift the striker cap and apply lubricant around the area shown in the photo. Lower the striker cap to its original position and apply lubricant around the strut shaft on top of the striker cap. Lower the bellows to the original position.

The recommended lubricant is silicon based. Petroleum based lube should not be used as it may cause deformation of plastic materials over time.
