Inspect the Chevy Bolt Wiring Harness
This bulletin applies to 2017 Chevy Bolt EV vehicles. The MIL may be on, accompanied by DTC P2798. This condition may be caused by a damaged wire insulation, causing a short to ground or corrosion in the command signal line of the G5 transmission fluid pump harness. Do not replace the fluid pump for this condition until the wiring harness has been validated not to be the cause.
Raise and support the vehicle and remove the left front wheel. Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Disconnect the transmission fluid pump harness connector. Inspect for damage and repair as needed. Make sure that the harness is not resting on any components. If repairs are made, use woven polyester electrical tape to wrap the harness in a double layer along any areas of possible contact points.
