When installing a new fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit in any Honda car or truck equipped with a plastic fuel tank, don’t forget to install a new fuel tank lock nut, base basket and fuel line retainers.

To ensure that you’re ordering the correct parts, always refer to the parts catalog. When installing the gasket, be sure to place it on the fuel tank side, not thon the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit side. This ensures that the gasket does not get pinched or rolled during assembly. If installed incorrectly, the MIL may illuminate with an EVAP control system leakage DTC.
