Fixing a shifting click

Some customers may complain about a clicking type noise from the front of the vehicle when shifting between reverse and drive, or during hard acceleration.
This includes 2010-2011 Buick LaCrosse, 2011 Buick Regal, 2008-2011 Cadillac CTS, CTS Wagon or Coupe, 2010-2011 Cadillac SRX, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro built prior to June 1, 2009, 2010-2011 Chevrolet Equinox, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and 2010-2011 GMC Terrain.
The correction involves adding a washer between the front wheel drive shaft and the bearing hub assembly. NOTE: Some of the involved vehicles may have been built with the washer. If there is a washer in place, remove and discard, and replace with a new washer. Do not re-use the original washer. Any time the wheel drive shaft is separated from the steering knuckle, the washer must be replaced with a new washer.
1. Remove the front wheel bearing and hub assembly.
2. Install a new washer onto the front wheel drive shaft. Note: For Crize, Equinox and Terrain vehicles, do not re-use the wheel drive shaft nut. Discard and replace with a new nut.
3. Install the front wheel bearing and hub assembly.
4. Repeat these steps for the opposite axle side.
If the clicking noise is determined to be at the rear of the vehicle (CTS and Camaro), add a washer between the rear wheel drive shaft and the bearing hub assembly. Again, some vehicles may have been equipped with the washer originally, If so, remove and discard the washer and replace with a new washer. Do not re-use the drive shaft nut. Discard and replace with a new nut.
