Radio Won’t Shut Up

This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Buick Cascada vehicles. Some customers may comment that when parking and turning off the engine, the radio continues to play even after the driver door is opened. Technicians may find DTC U1530 or U1534 present.

The cause of the condition may be a power window motor control circuit board that may be defective, which does not allow communication to the BCM (body control module) for window indexing. For proper operation, the BCM needs to see the indexing signal to know that the door is open to cancel radio play.

If SI diagnostics verifies a condition of no window indexing communication to the BCM, replace the driver door power window regulator/motor assembly. A replacement regulator is available as P/N 13366935.
