SAE International offers book on automotive vibration analysis
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International now offers a complete guide to the science of automotive vibration theory and analysis. Titled “Principles of Vibration Analysis with Applications in Automotive Engineering,” the book was co-authored by Ronald L. Huston and C.Q. Liu, recognized experts in the field.
The publication is a comprehensive guide for practicing engineers, technicians, designers and researchers involved in vibration theory and analysis. SAE says it is also a valuable reference for students who wish to specialize in the field.
The text integrates the advances of modern modal analysis, experimental testing, and numerical analysis with fundamental theory. The authors compiled these topics, compared them, and provided experience with practical application.
“Principles of Vibration Analysis with Applications in Automotive Engineering” provides a practical level of understanding of the principles of vibration, by providing concentrated application examples to illustrate the concepts covered.
“No other book brings all of these topics together under one cover,” says Huston. “C.Q. and I did exhaustive research on the topic and we believe we have produced a comprehensive resource that practitioners will reference time and again.”
Readers will learn: principles of automobile basic vibration theory; established methods for analyzing vibrations; and how to integrate vibration analysis, experimental testing and fundamental theory.
