BMW Program Update

This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW 320i xDrive and a host of 2-Series, 3-Series and 4-Series vehicles. During acceleration in a high gear with engine speed range of 2,000 – 3,000 rpm, the vehicle may jerk. This may be due to unfavorable programming of the digital motor electronics (DME).

Reprogram and encode the vehicle with more recent I-level software using ISTA 4.06.2x or higher to the indicated integration level. The target integration level is F020-17-07-500 or higher.

Note that ISTA will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software. Always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply to the vehicle battery during programming.
