DENSO Corp.’s global V2X technology experts are speaking at the Telematics V2X for Auto Safety and Mobility conference. The event will bring industry experts together to discuss and investigate the full potential of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technology on March 20-21, 2012, at the Hotel Baronette in Novi, Mich.

DENSO V2X experts Roger Berg, vice president of Wireless Technologies at DENSO International America Inc., and Tim Leinmuller, chief engineer of Information and Safety Systems at DENSO Automotive Germany, will participate in four panel sessions on March 20 to discuss:

1.      Exploring Today’s V2X Offerings: A discussion about near-term V2X technology applications that will have an immediate return on investment.

2.      Desirable Business Models and Probe Data Opportunities: Developing realistic deployment strategies and business models is imperative to speed up the market penetration of V2X technologies.

3.      V2X and ADAS: Complementary Technologies to Improve Road Safety: V2X technologies provide overlapping functionality with current advanced driver assistant systems (ADAS) technology offerings. The panel will address the question whether these technologies will compete or provide complementary solution in the future.

4.      Learn Lessons from Europe: Partnership Opportunities to Implement V2I: Installing V2X technologies along the road infrastructure requires a strong network and support of various companies. This panel will help you understand how Europe’s automakers are visualizing key partners to elevate this technology.

DENSO says it has been globally researching and developing vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technology since 2003. One of the main focuses is on Dedicated Short-range Communications (DSRC) devices.

DENSO is also among the suppliers working with the United States Department of Transportation on their Connected Vehicle Technology research project.
