ASP Editor Wins Gold Medal for Editorial Excellence in IAMC Competition

Auto Service Professional and Modern Tire Dealer won six medals for editorial excellence at the 25th International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC). ASP and MTD are part of Bobit Business Media Inc.

Mike Mavrigian, editor of ASP, won a gold medallion in the Technical/General category for his story on TPMS tips in the 2015 May/June issue.

This is Mavrigian's third IAMC award. Last year, he also won a gold medallion in the Technical/General category for his article on premature brake wear. And in 2014, he won a silver medal in the “Technical/How to do it” category for "Electronic fuel pump diagnosis," parts one and two.

MTD's September 2015 story on Tire Dealer of the Year Ricky Benton by Senior Editor Joy Kopcha won a gold medal and the "Best of Magazine Articles -- Writing" Division. The magazine also was awarded four other medals.

Tony Swan, known as "The Dean" of Motor City automotive writers, won the IAMC Lifetime Achievement Award.

The IAMC awards ceremony was held in the Brembo North America Media Tent at the 38th annual Concours d’Elegance of America in Plymouth, Mich., July 31. The medal sponsors were Hyundai Motor America Inc. (gold), Meguiar's Car Care Products/Meguiar's Inc. (silver) and Hagerty Collector Car Insurance/Hagerty Group LLC (bronze).

The purpose of the IAMC is to "recognize and encourage excellence in all forms of automotive media." The competition is administered, produced and owned by the International Society for Vehicle Preservation, a non-profit educational organization, under the direction of Operations Director Tom Kelley.
