Avoid the Module Swap

This bulletin applies to 2010-2013 Cadillac SRX models. A no-start or other concern may be experienced after swapping an ECM or other modules from one vehicle to another.

The new Global Architecture electrical systems do not allow controller swaps between vehicles. Swapping ECMs or other module (including radio, BCM, EBCM, SDM, TCM, ECC, EPS, HPCM and IPC) on vehicles with the new Global Architecture electrical system will result in damaging both controllers.

A no-start condition will occur on both vehicles if these modules are swapped, due to the new vehicle security code protocol starting with 2010 model year GDS applications.

In other words, don’t do it.
