Federal-Mogul adds to Moog U-joint Article line

Federal-Mogul’s Moog steering and suspension Article line now includes a comprehensive offering of premium replacement universal joints for automotive, heavy-duty and agricultural applications.

Featuring world-class metallurgy and construction, the new Moog driveline offering includes anti-galvanic U-joints featuring chemically coated bearing cups and lock rings for protection of aluminum yokes; Super Strength U-joints for high torque, high horsepower applications; and heavy-duty U-joints for agricultural, commercial, industrial and off-highway uses.

The Moog line also includes power takeoff (PTO) joints featuring a patented thrust washer technology with anti-drainback feature commonly used in medium- and heavy-duty equipment.

“The Moog brand is known as ‘The Problem Solver’ as a result of its innovative, better-than-original designs as well as our one-stop offering of solutions for virtually every vehicle. We’re extending this advantage by adding industry-best driveline Articles to the Moog portfolio,” says Joe Stephan, director, undercar Articles, Federal-Mogul Global Aftermarket.

Each Moog U-joint is machined to meet or exceed original equipment specifications and is tested to Federal-Mogul’s strict quality tolerances for optimum performance and durability. Important Moog engineering features include cold-formed and case-hardened bearing cups for improved strength and wear resistance; premium quality seals that lock out contaminants and ensure lubricant retention; precisely machined needle bearings designed for maximum loads; radial-design bearing cups that promote 360-degree lubrication; high strength forged and carburized (heat treated) steel crosses that help ensure durability; and an integral grease fitting for easy maintenance and long life.
