Rear wheel Jeep noise

A clicking or rubbing noise may be heard from the rear wheels at low speeds (primarily the left rear wheel) on 2012-2013 Jeep Compass and Patriot (China only) models.

  1. Drive the vehicle with all electrical functions off, all windows open and parking brake engaged to the second click.
  2. Drive the vehicle forward 15 meters (about 49 ft.) at a speed of no more than 8 kph (4.9 mph)
  3. Drive the vehicle in reverse 15 meters (49 ft.) at no more than 8 kph (4.9 mph)
  4. If there is a clicking or rubbing noise coming from the rear wheel(s), replace the rear parking brake show hold-down pin(s). The pins are available as P/N 68159650AB.
