Crummy Fuel?

Owners of some GM models may comment about a check engine light on during or after a crank-no-start event or a hard start/extended crank event. DTC P0336 may be set.

If this concern is encountered and the engine is now starting fine, it is possible that the concern is fuel or injector related and the P0336 is a result of the no-start, and not the cause of it. Verify the fuel quality and injectors before replacing the crank sensor or the ECM.

Affected vehicles include:

2007-2011 Cadillac CTS, SRX, STS; 2007-2011 GMC Acadia; 2007-2009 Pontiac G6; 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook; 2007-2009 Saturn Aura; 2007-2011 Buick Lacrosse, Canada only; 2008-2011 Buick Enclave; 2008-2010 Saturn Vue; 2010-2011 Chevy Camaro; 2008-2011 Chevy Malibu; 2008-2011 Chevy Equinox; 2008-2011 Chevy Traverse and 2008-2009 Pontiac Torrent.
