Anti-theft device is draining

This bulletin applies to 2013-2014 Buick Encore vehicles, as well as a host of 2010-1014 GM models. A customer may note that the vehicle’s brake lights remain on when the vehicle is off and parked, and/or the battery goes dead.

A possible cause may be the installation of an aftermarket mechanical theft deterrent device that interacts with the brake pedal. This may move the pedal from its released position.

Prior to replacing any parts, inspect for the installation of an anti-theft system that attaches to the brake pedal.
