Commanding the Jeep

This bulletin applies to 2010 Jeep Commander vehicles, where the customer experiences a rear defroster switch that takes a higher than desired engagement effort (too hard to engage).

This condition is caused by the ATC housing having too much deflection when the button is depressed, which does not close the switch properly, requiring extra effort to close the switch.

1.  Remove the ATC control head. Follow the procedures available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT. Refer to Group 24 – Heating & Air Conditioning > Controls > Controls, A/C and Heater Removal procedures.

2. Install two new screws into the back of the ATC control head. The screws are available as P/N 68078941AA.

3. Install the ATC control head.
