Midas is exceeding growth targets
TBC Corp. says its Midas International Corp. subsidiary is exceeding growth targets by opening new stores with three different constituents: entrepreneurs that are new to the auto industry; independent auto/tire stores that convert to Midas; and existing Midas franchisees that are opening up new stores.
Midas stores have had 18 straight months of sales increases since the launch of the “Golden Hand” TV commercials in October 2013, according to TBC.
Nineteen Midas locations from Kentucky to California to Canada have been added to the North America-wide Midas roster in the past year. TBC says many more are in the pipeline.
TBC says recent recruits include Roger Wallin, who retired early from his longtime management position at Toyota to open a Midas store in Georgetown, Ky.
"We felt we had to make a change in order to build market share, and Midas offered us everything we needed — a very attractive brand name that brings in customers and incredible support," says Jaber, who converted his store with a new coat of paint, a large digital sign, new branding, and new awnings and counters.

TBC says branding, TV advertising, training and support, and a successful retail system are the big reasons why independents convert their businesses to Midas franchises while continuing to be “the boss” of their operations.

Midas offers brake, maintenance, tires, exhaust, steering and suspension services at more than 2,000 franchised, licensed and company-owned shops in 13 countries, including nearly 1,200 in the U.S. and Canada. Midas also owns the SpeeDee Oil Change business, with 130 auto service centers in the U.S. and Mexico.
