GM no-start: Check the obvious

Some owners of various GM vehicles that feature side-mount battery terminals may complain about an intermittent no-crank and/or no-start condition. This may be due to poor battery cable connections. Cross-threaded/stripped battery cable bolts inside the battery side post terminals can easily cause poor battery cable connections.

To avoid replacing the battery, clean the threads in the battery side post terminals with a 3/8” – 16 NC bottoming tap and replace the battery cable bolt with a new bolt.
