Frozen Scion IGI relay

Some owners of 2006-2009 Scion tC and 2008-2009 xD vehicles may experience multiple warning lights illuminated, vehicle not shifting from Park to Drive, and other accessories becoming inoperative after the vehicle has cold-soaked in sub-freezing ambient air temperatures (below 14 degrees F). A newly designed relay has been made available to improve this condition.

Previous IG1 relay P/N 90987-02025 (gray) or 90987-02030 (pink)

Current IG1 relay P/N 90987-02031 (red) 

  1. Locate the instrument panel junction block No. 1 located in the instrument panel.
  2. Remove the relay and verify the part number located on the side of the relay. If the part number is 90987-02025 or 90987-02030, replace the relay with part number 90987-02031. If the existing relay is part number 90987-02031, diagnose the specific conditions following the repair maual.
  3. Connect TIS Techstream and clear any stored DTCs, using software version 4.00.017 or later.
