Mazda brake groan

Some vehicles may exhibit a groan noise from the rear brakes when applying the brakes. This applies to 2007-2010 Mazda CX-7 and CX-9.

After verifying the customer concern, replace the rear disc pads with modified ones. Refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual procedure 04-11 DISC PAD (REAR) REPLACEMENT.

NOTE: The modified rear disc pad set comes with new brake pads, shims (A) and guide plates (B). Prior to installing the modified disc pads, lightly and evenly apply white grease to the disc pads in locations C as shown in the illustration.

Use care not to apply any grease on the disc pad-to-rotor surface or rotor.

The modified rear disc brake pad set is available as P/N L2Y8-26-43Z.
